the fox in the trap gets too close
like scratching the ice from the window at winter
so close but not enough to sustain the brutality of life

cold and unfeeling is this
life passing us by
he is dying under the shadow of night
he is dying in my arms

a friend he was there these 20 million years or so
i will miss you when you go
i will miss you when it comes time to decide

this is no rodeo
this is no way to be
this life was long and yet too short

life lines are patterned after our creator
who sits in a shroud of mystery
this holy grail holds no insight
into the life we live from the dna we emerge

into the darkness
into life
we will die
we will die

(dedicated to anyone who has lost or is losing a loved pet)

It is very difficult to watch a beloved pet get sick and die. We at least have an option to put them out of their misery. Too many people spend so much money to keep a poor animal alive when it is in pain all the time.

There is a time to let go and it is one of the more difficult things in life.

Thank you for sharing and I give you my condolences on the loss of a loved one.
