| Book Club held 02/01/12
Book to discuss will be RAECHEL'S EYES: VOLUME ONE: The Strange but True Case of an Apparent Alien-Human Hybrid.
AUTHOR: HELEN LITTRELL
Minutes for 02/01/12 book club meeting
Regarding the book Raechel's Eyes we discovered that overall we all enjoyed the book. Vol. 1 (even though to my happy surprise two members had the 1st and 2nd volume in one=>)
One point that was brought up was whether or not Helen Littrell believed that her encounters were in fact genuine. It was the agreed by everyone (Peanut, Goodwitch, Tethys13, and Sensai Ed) that the book was not a hoax. After reading it and the information everyone agrees Helen Littrell believes it happened herself and is not trying to deceive everyone.
The second point was brought up Could the government cover-up something of that caliber for 60+ years. Tethys13 and Peanut agreed it was indeed possible.
Sensai Ed brought up the fact that he fears that if this is true does that mean the govt could now track who and what people buy such as this book? It was a scary thought to many of the book club seeing - that if it was indeed not fiction what if?
Another point was brought up that everyone believed overall the book was more about the heart and the connection between the characters. It was very much like "Taken" by Steven Speilberg where you have a cause that after living separate lives the characters are brought together in the end over a cause.
There is in Vol. 2 a regressive therapy session logged which was very interesting to those that got the second volume. Helen goes into great depth regarding her past experiences and there is much more to her story than meets the eye.
The book tries to answer questions such as why aliens are here why they don't expose themselves.
Regardless of what you believe one thing was agreed upon and that was something happened.

| I have added that book to my wishlist. It is a bit pricy though, and I am hoping a used one will be available for a cheaper price.
Thank you for mentioning this to those of us who are growing our libraries.

| Yes this was the major "Information" I was sharing. I had decided it could be like a library section on our lovely site. It would also be nice if I could actually finish one of my books by weeks end! | |

| I do try to read at night as I don't get disturbed. I am a night owl so I read until the Sun comes up and then I go to bed. (Some might mistake me for a vampire.)
I have had some books where I read the whole thing through. They are so good it is difficult to stop reading.

| The book is so far good. It's simple and straightforward. I have to finish it by next meeting though:-) | |

| Book was very good my only complaint is I wanted to know more about the interaction between the two girls. It was a beautiful story though. It actually inspires me to finish the book I started about my own ghostly life changing experiences. My only issue was I have never been able to figure out what it all meant. What it still means so .. when I do..
But the book jumps around quite a bit and that is fine just wish it did not have such an abrupt ending, but all in all I think it is less about aliens and more about the human struggle and what you can overcome.

| Maybe you can write about it but leave it open as to what the meaning is. Sometimes the journey is much more interesting than the answers. | |
