I know there is something out there, unexplained forces at work. I’d like to tell you about my mom and her abilities.
This started in the late 1940’s, her abilities to see into the future. I’ll just list the instances as best I can.
One morning after her first husband left for work, he got up very early, he was a logger, he left their house while my mom was still sleeping. That morning she had a dream that Jack, her husband, drove into a white cloud and died. She woke up with a start.
A few hours later she was told he died that morning in a car crash while driving in a blinding snowstorm.
She remarried a few years later, to the man who would be my father. Before I was born she kept having dreams about him being on death’s door, extremely sick. Not long after that he developed some mysterious illness that they never could figure out what was wrong with him, but he eventually pulled through. He was in the Hospital for many days. He was stationed in the Philippines during WWII and they think he contracted something there and it lay dormant for a few years, that was their best guess!
The next thing that happened was she told me I was going to be kidnapped by some friends as a joke and something would go wrong and I would end up dead. Not too long after that I was hanging out with a couple of my male friends and I said I should be getting home, we were just out joy-riding in their car at the time. They said “No, we are going to kidnap you.” Let me tell you, my blood ran so cold when they said that. I jumped out of the car, it was a convertible, and ran to my own car that was parked nearby. This is back when kids would pose town, just drive back and forth from one end of town to the other. I know her dream saved my life. My friends were harmless, but what I think would have happened, we would have gotten in a car wreck perhaps, I still can’t imagine they would have killed me.
Next thing to happen. One year at Thanksgiving dinner, my mom looked over at her mother, my grandma, across the table from her and my grandma’s face had a skull superimposed over her face. A few months later my grandma found out she had terminal cancer and died not too long after than.
Back to my dad, mom had a dream he was laying in a coffin. A few months later he was diagnosed with lung cancer and then brain cancer. He died.
One Saturday morning my mom had a dream she was at her work. She worked on the second floor of City Hall and there were blinds on the window to her office. In her dream the cleaning lady lifted up the blinds and said..”Good-bye June.”
Mom found out Monday morning that the woman had died early Saturday morning.
And that was the last one of these kinds of dreams my mom had.
She is glad she doesn’t have them anymore too.
