From what I read looks like it is going to be a wetter than average year.

Participation will be higher than average for those of us in the Great lakes region..

The Chicago area is supposed to get a lot of snow and extreme cold this winter. So far the past few days have been very warm (up to the high 50s). A cold front is coming with snow flurries, but no major snowstorm yet. It looks like the heavy stuff will miss us (south of Chicago), but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I just saw the weather map, and it is going to be a doozy for the Lake States. I would be prepared to stay home for a few days. We have plenty of water, canned food (plus hand operated can openers) and other supplies just in case it gets bad.

Yeah it isn't fun today. The city didn't seem to think anyone needed to clear the roads!

I wasn't very happy this morning driving in... my mouth may have said a few curse words to other drivers.. scratch

We got about five inches of snow here. Not as bad as some were expecting, but enough to cause travel hazards. The roads are clear now, but it is nice and cold out for the next few weeks. Winter has arrived.

Almost 9pm here and our roads still are awful! I was just as cranky coming home from work as I was getting there:-)

We got clobbered with snow last night. I would guess at least a foot of snow out there and am glad I don't have to shovel it.

My brother loves using his big snowblower and will keep using by removing snow on all the walkways and sidewalks.

Snow I can put up with.
Ice brings down trees and power lines to easily.

I like 70's and sunshine... sunny
