I'm Gardening again!

It's been ten years since I've had a place to garden so today I'm planting seeds in a Dome to start saving $ by growing my own produce. I'm a city girl in reality but lately getting back to my earthy roots is something that feels healing:-).

I'm doing Broccoli, Hot Peppers, tomatoes, and Basil but will add more as my weekend goes on;-). Only thing I want when I get my tax return is a swing to enjoy my yard and the stars again;-)

Any tips for Broccoli ? Never grew it wish me luck!

Our back yard right now is low so it becomes a lake when it rains. I would love for a garden to be put there so I can grow many different items, but mainly I want flowers and a poi pond.

I remember we had a swing in the front and back yards when I grew up and would sit there during the summer nights.

I don't have any tips for broccoli or any other veggies other than don't over water everything like I used to do.

Also, keep the dogs and cats from digging up or eating the tomatoes.

There are some species of ants which are good as they eat natural parasites. I would look into which ones to not get rid of as you start planting.

Lady bugs are also a great natural guard against pests. Many online sites sell live lady bugs and you might find them at a home and garden shop.

We tend to get them in the fall a lot. It used to seem like spring but things around OHIO change so much. My broccoli is doing better than the other things I have planted.

Try to take a picture of the garden when you think it is ready. I do like to look at nice gardens (my Dad had a green thumb and grew flowers and veggies all over the inside and outside of the house).

so far it is in a plastic rack as a buddling I'm hoping my other things start soon. I am really trying to save money with the aspect of gardening. Coupons are great but they can't save on basics.
