as he did a thousand times over
I locked in with his eyes
so in love I needed a filter
this was not reality here..

and with wisdom
I marched to my own tune when
the band broke up
I went a way for years
then his solo song came for me
I unearthed the vision of he
He and I met for the first time
the vision of me with a famous man
At that moment he was my brother
a childish attraction, now he was a reminder of older men
I considered uncles, brothers, and long lost family...
It is weird to see it
this red shirt now in this winter cool
A memory tucked away inside

Another missing time period
he builds cars in a rodeo
often asked where are his songs
now he is an old man
with children and a wife
pretty young paradise
of a now common man...
a weird tribute to me thinking about me crushing on a famous man.. only now I know him and he isn't so famous anymore, and he is just a pen pal from another land..just thinking of me at 16 and me now at 33...things aren't so supernatural..
