Mean Dreams

There are some nights I have some very mean spirited dreams that I find hard to explain. I usually say nasty things to a family member who I really do love dearly. I then wonder why I would say such things in my dream to them if all was right with the world.

The reality is, my family is on the opposite side of the political and faith spectrum than I am. This means when we get together, I have to walk on eggshells or get accused of attacking Christianity or anything Republican.

I made a joke about Newt Gingrich and his third trophy wife and it was as if I attacked a saint.

When my sister told me she would of voted for Herman Cain, I had to bite my tongue on that one.

I do try not to say anything to get them upset, but they are all OK to bash all of my liberal leaning values.

I then realized my dreams were a way to get my anger out without really hurting them when we do meet for family functions.

I have weird dreams like that all the time.

I guess it is better we act this stuff out in our dreams than doing it in real life hurting the ones we really do love.

I would rather just have nicer dreams myself. Lately, I have been having those types of dreams.
