It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas

From Hell, not from any holiday movie

The carolers are out there singing off key and holding out their hands for money

The bell ringers' eyes light up when a dollar bill is pushed in the pail. More Crystal Palace tonight!

The stores have the plastic trees and decorations out. Buy! Buy! Buy!

Buy Buy Buy yet I have $0 in the bank account

Credit! Credit! Credit! We'll take your first born this New Year

There is no snow out there but dark gray dirty skies and rain rain rain

Christmas is in the air. Ho Ho Ho

A fake man will promise you great rewards for good behavior

Do you mean Santa or Jesus?

We all need a break I see.. this time of year grates on my nerves.. I'm more into it this year than last but finding myself more excited over gifts like homemade cds or bags.. they are better! cyclops

This poem is my homage to all those who are tired of this holiday. It lost its meaning when materialism set in during the late 19th Century.

I do like the holiday but so many people stress out to make everything perfect. Just sit back and pour yourself a glass of eggnog (with rum added) and enjoy being with family.

I agree homemade stuff makes the holiday much better. It is a very persona touch to a holiday that seems to of lost the humanity.

Saturnalia is a time for family and fun.

I was thinking about the last line of the poem and wondered if it was too dark. But it fits as the whole poem has a dark tone to it. It is not meant to be Twas the Night Before Christmas.

I think as a society we allow those feeling to be put upon us to live up to the expectations of the sheeple. Gotta love it. I am probably spending a lot of money I don't have this year- but for a good cause. I want my nephew - who has no real family anymore- to have the best G***amn Christmas/ solstice yet!

Some real unsavory things going on with my immediate family.. makes me wish sometimes I had been adopted by wild animals. cheers

And I can skip the eggnog and go for the red stuff! Very Happy
