Our Occult History by Jim Marrs (2013)

Mr Marrs is a known name in the conspiracy theory movement. His book Crossfire: The Plot That Killed Kennedy is must reading for those who want to know everything there is to know about the JFK assassination. In Occult, Mr Marrs tackles ancient astronauts and whether there is a cover-up going on there.

The book does rehash many other authors works on the subject especially Zecharia Sitchin. It also doesn't have all that much new to offer to the table if you have most of the books or have read them. Still, it is a good overview of what is going on for those who do not have many books or have not read the ideas of the other authors.

Mr Marrs also has some credible names in the book as well which bolsters it a bit. Some of the names such as Richard Hoagland and David Icke are a bit out there, but quotes from Carl Sagan and a few others balance it out.

I also think Mr Marrs relies a bit too much on remote viewing (a favorite trick among magicians) which is not very reliable in my line of thinking. Since most people have never landed on Mars or the Moon, we don't really know what is there. Plus, we don't know if those Top Secret meetings really happened.

Still, this book is a good read and contains much bibliography for those who want to research the topic further. I do think there is a cover-up going on with many of the topics discussed in the book. I also wish there was something us readers can do about it.

I recommend this for your book club as it is available at bookstores, online and the library (yes, many of us know what a library is and still use it).

He is a frequent guest on Whitleys Strieber's radio show , Dreamland, too I think if I am not mistaken.. feel free to correct me.

Mr Marrs also would go on the Above Top Secret forums but not as much because of the people there.

Now that he is retired from teaching, he does a lot of those shows. I do think Crossfire, Alien Agenda and Rule By Secrecy are among his best works.

I am almost positive I have one by hime somewhere I bought it so long ago not sure I recall the name of it.
