The Manhattan Transfer proved to radio that they could play a group with a completely different sound than what was popular at the time. Or deemed by the fad setters whomever they may be. This group was two men and two women who looked like they were good married friends who decided to start a musical group. They have great voices and very catchy tunes.
They are more of a tribute to swing and the earlier styles of music, but with a different twist. I am glad many radio stations decided to have a variety to give them a chance.
