| In life we find ourselves hung up on the day to day things that may in turn cause us to forget our humanity. Then we find out the world is not as nice as we would like it to be. In turn I have created a place here in the Nature forum where you can post notices about your favorite rescue groups and the animals that have come to love us and us them.
Feel free to add any that you feel really need a home and never know maybe some lovely person will see it and adopt your fury friend.
I am a promoter of all animal rescues and non-kill shelters. So if you want to share from your local humane society feel free and feel free to post a photo here as well.
As a good Wiccan I am also a representation of man kind and in that I believe in giving back in any way I can. It is also important to remember to volunteer if you are able. Even the kindness by walking one dog a month at a shelter is still giving back. A lot of people I know are not wealthy enough to send hundreds of dollars to rescue agencies but even spare change or a can of cat food is better than nothing. Not a lot of places allow you to promote charitable organizations or non-profit but here I am allowing it. You don't have to be an animal lover to help either. Or even work with the animals. Spare change works too. =0) ~ Blessings #1. | Thank you for sharing this. I try to go to the shelter and pet all the cats as they need loving. But I get so sad and want to take them all home. At least I am happy to give them some joy in these dark times for them. If it were up to me, I would adopt them all, but I can't afford it. I can afford my time though, and I do just that. | |

| BREED - DOMESTIC MALE/ FEMALE - FEMALE AGE- 1 YEAR 4 MONTHS LOCATION - HUMANE SOCIETY OF GREATER AKRON ( WWW.SUMMITHUMANE.ORG)(P.S. MAY BE THE CUTEST THING ANYONE HAS EVER SEEN?? JUST SAYIN')ALSO NOTE* WHY EVERYONE SHOULD CONSIDER ADOPTION.. As an adoptive mom to all three of my fourlegged kids - so many dogs and cats and other animals don't have homes or did but were hurt or abused. They can bring so much love to your life. I am including a photo of my dog Skid (like skid mark.. ) after he was found after being hit and drug 2 blocks by some idiot. It could have been due to the fact he was a pitbull or just the fact people are evil. and here he is today spoiled and happy! | |

| There are rescue organizations in every state. There should be no need for puppy mills. Anyone running a puppy mill should be concidered a criminal. Glad the little guy is safe and happy now. | |

| Kitty acting cute would find a home here real quick. I also agree about puppy mills. If a breeder states they will not take back a dog, stay away from them. | |

| Puppy mills are not regulated here in Ohio. But Tigers, and bears and god knows what else has also not been. I was glad they changed the wild animal law, if you want to see something disgusting go online and type in any exotic pet - monkeys are very popular. For just 1200 bucks you too can own your own baby chimp!
An animal that most likely is ripped away from it's mother days after being born to be sold. It breaks my heart to see that stuff. They end up like many and go insane after years of being with humans and when the humans can't take care of them end up in test labs. From there to more horrors. There are now new FDA regulations because of PETA and the HUMANE SOCIETY OF THE UNITED STATES. They are trying to keep them happy and healthy while in labs. It's better than before but I'm still not a fan of them being tested for diseases on humans. In my opinion they should test on criminals. Perverts that hurt kids etc.. Especially since it has been proven their blood reacts differently to tests with aids and other human / chimp diseases.
K off my soap box.... | |

| When chimps get older and reach their equivalent of puberty, they can get very violent and even rip the arms off a human being. All the chimps seen in the movies are actually youngsters as adults are impossible to work with. They seem cute, but are not pets. There are many open zoos and other places where exotic animals can roam around in. They have specialists take care of them and make sure they live healthy lives. They also are still wild and are treated with respect. I have never understood why someone would want a pet lion, bear or other exotic animal which could kill them in a New York minute. All it takes is one swipe and it is all over. http://www.pawschicago.org/The above is but many no kill shelters out there for the animals who need a home. I don't think I would let anyone who has had a wild animal only to have to kill it get another pet as long as they live. But there are many others who need friends. Instead of going to a puppy mill and getting that full breed, why not get a good old fashioned mutt? How about a calico? You can find a great friend at a shelter near you. It does cost a donation to get them, but look at all the good it does. (If you can't afford the donation, you can't afford the pet!) | |

| It is interesting to note the Westminster Dog Show dropped the Pedigree brand pet food from their sponsorship because they have adds telling people to go to shelters and adopt dogs there instead of going to breeders. That shows a lot about their character to support the animals who need it the most. Pedigree just went up in my stock value! http://petnewsandviews.net/2012/02/westminster-drops-pedigree/ | |

| Quinn is around 10-12 months old and weighs about 40 pounds. He can be shy at times with some new people, but it doesn't take long for this cutie to warm up. He loves other dogs, but they better be ready to play! He knows sit and would love to learn much much more. Such a cutie www.summithumane.org | |

| Here is a Brittany rescue site in honor of my beloved Janie: http://www.americanbrittanyrescue.org/There are many dog and cat rescue sites near where you live. It can be fun to donate your time to help them out as they need it. I have transported dogs for these groups and have met some very nice people. I figured since Janie was a Brittany, I would put up the site for her. | |
