This topic is being put on here for anyone new to the world of the Preternatural and the places associated with mystical happenings that most likely will be frequently mentioned this sight over. I'll go with the top 5 that I have and other members can feel free to add things along the way with a quick definition as to why they are sacred wonders of the mystical world.

1. The Great Pyramids - One of the seven wonders of the world it is still pretty much intact. It is also the topic of much controversy as they still are not clear as to why or how they are built. Possibly ancient aliens assisted in them being built or perhaps an ancient civilization built them.

2. Atlantis- Ancient city mostly known in legend only. It was first mentioned, as far as we know, by Plato in his dialogs. There have been dozens of locations for this ancient city all over the world. Atlantis is known as the "lost" civilization and also in legend to have been highly technically advanced for the ages. It is told Atlantis was destroyed possibly by great watery flood to name one. Others say it was a psychically advanced society that destroyed itself by becoming too powerful.

3. Easter Island- Located off the coast of Chile south of the Galapagos Islands it is known by most as one of the most remote islands in the world. It is thought through research that it became quite a place for an enriched culture that eventually collapsed.

4. Stonhendge- Located in Salisbury Plain in Southern England it is known by many to be the place of Druid Magic practices. It is made up of thirty upright stones and aligned in a circle, with thirty lintels which are perched horizontal. The upright stones weigh over 26 tons and the horizontal 6 tons each. Oddly placed they form a circle and for hundreds of years the reasoning behind them has been up for debate.

5.Nazca Lines- Located in the high desert of Peru are these objects of animals etched into the surface of the desert of Pampa. There are 300 figures in straight lines and geometric shapes. The patterns have only one fault - you can only see them by air. They are thought to be messages to the "Gods" or possibly ancient alien landing strips. Although the ancien airport idea has been by many to have been debunked. One thing is certain they were trying to send a message to someone in the sky by most reports.

6. The Great Serpent Mound in Adams County Ohio has been featured on Ancient Aliens and other programs. It is known as a place for preternatural occurrences such as UFO and spirit activity. This is close to me and I have not yet visited it, but it can be a destination for your book club.

7. Gobekli Tepe in Turkey is of note because of its extreme antiquity dating over 10,000 years old. This makes it older than what many claim the earliest peoples were capable of. The monoliths and artwork is quite sophisticated, along with the alignments.

8. Angkor Wat is a Buddhist Temple in Angkor Cambodia which is relatively new for the most part as it was built in the 12th Century.

11. The pyramids of the Americas. There are many very sophisticated pyramids throughout South and Central America which are known for their alignments to the Sun, Moon and stars. They were built 2000 or so years ago, with some researchers claiming they could be older. They all resemble the pyramids in Egypt and some of the artwork also resembles Egyptian and other Old World civilizations. It is possible they were built by the same peoples using the same type of technology. Could they of been used to harness the power grid of Mother Earth?
